Iván Mauricio Torres, 50 years old, lives in our Santa Carmela-Casa Blanca housing project. A couple of years ago, he began experiencing health symptoms that no one could explain. Each one was treated individually but no one could determine the link between all his illnesses.

Knowing that the spot treatments were not working and that something was seriously wrong, Iván came to our clinic and shared his symptoms and previous treatments with Dr Espinoza. We are so grateful he did.

Dr Espinoza was able to make the connections to have Iván examined by the right doctors and get the necessary testing, revealing his heart-breaking diagnosis- cancer. No matter where you are in the world, fighting cancer is an uphill battle. Living in rural Nicaragua and trying to treat cancer is a whole other level of difficulty.

Our team was able to support Iván as he endured months of chemotherapy and radiation as well as a major surgery. We are relieved to share that he is now cancer free and in good health!
