Just as Jesus instructed the lame to pick up their mat and walk, He has provided opportunities for a young patient in our Granadillo 3 community to have a life of mobility.

At Dariela’s birth, it was obvious that her life would be tough. Just like her older brother Joiner, she was born with a cleft palate and club feet. It has been a long journey, but her entire family has helped her through surgeries and extensive therapy. Not once did they stop their plan and give up. They trusted God to get them through daunting procedures and seemingly endless appointments.

At the age of five, Dariela is walking. She is even dancing!

Dariela’s parents, Darling and Benafacio, smile and laugh with relief as they watch their daughter continuously walk throughout their house. Most times, her walking has no purpose. If there is a noise outside, Dariela is the first to go check it out. If someone needs something, Dariela is quick to retrieve it for them. If anyone is doing anything, she has to go be a part of it.

Dariela’s parents are quick to praise God and give credit to the many prayers Dariela has received throughout this process. Her progress is nothing short of a miracle!

Dariela’s story does not stop here, and she continues to need our prayers. She has at least two more surgeries ahead of her and endless hours of therapy. Her parents are counting on Dariela’s resilience and our team of prayer warriors to keep carrying them through the months and changes ahead.
